How big is your problem?

Does it feel heavier than it did yesterday?

How many challenges do you think you can carry around before you “hurt yourself” as a result?

Are you trying to lay them down every once in a while by telling a close friend?

How many different suggestions have you been given, and does the problem now seem bigger because of them?

How do you decide which path to take?

Is that friend praying with you, and for you?

Let’s talk about a funnel as an example; how we see circumstances is much like that, it starts out small however the closer you allow it to get, the more space it starts to take. It can even become bigger than it actually is!

Many years ago during my career with Beazer I would have the opportunity to travel to places I’ve never been, and loved every bit of it. This particular trip I went to Arizona. I recall sitting in the plane about to land wondering who would want to live in a state with no grass? Being a tried and true southerner I spent my childhood in fields and backyards playing with friends, I never would’ve imagined that something as simple as grass could become a determining factor for where I lived….until I landed. I can tell you, without a doubt I would live there in a heartbeat! I digress.

Myself and 5 designers were on our way to the job site driving thru the desert and as we looked straight ahead, at the end of this very long narrow road was what seemed like a “thumb sized” hill. It appeared from far away that we would hit it if we kept going. As we got closer this hill became one gigantic mountain, but we also noticed the road we thought would run us right into it, gave us several choices to get to the other side, sounds like a great metaphor doesn’t it?

When we face a new problem, it’s shocking to the system. We weren’t prepared for it, and now it’s right there. As we dwell on it it becomes bigger. It appears as though we will crash into it, but when we are required to act on it, there’s always been a way to get thru it. God will always provide a way when the time is right, to help give us a resolution, if it is ours to resolve. Those problems we take on that aren’t actually ours to handle, the ones that linger in our minds, we should be laying those down to God. We are carrying what is not meant for us to bear.

Isaiah 41:10 ~ So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Let’s segue for a moment; How big is your God? Do you believe He loves you completely and unconditionally? Your personal view of God, and His love for you is directly related to the size of your faith which determines your peace during the life-size mountains in your vision. I will never claim to know how God works because if I did, well He wouldn’t be God, but I do know He is faithful, and He will never leave me or forsake me. Anything you or I are enduring right now, He already knows the way thru and what’s on the other side. That’s the God I serve!

Introduce yourself to Him, if you haven’t already. He already knows everything about you. The problem with one-sided relationships, they never grow into anything. Will you consider starting one with Him? I promise you won’t regret it.✨
