How is your endurance?

Do you have bouts of fatigue and weariness?

What about your hope, are you finding it harder to live in confidence that good things will happen right now?

Why is it time seems to creep by when we are struggling but flies when we are joyful?

I think we’ve all felt the value of time when it comes to buying produce. Time seems to fly on how fast fresh food will deteriorate if we don’t eat it in a timely manner and replenish accordingly. Unless it is processed with man made chemicals, then it can sit on a shelf indefinitely.

We have a shelf life too. How long do you attempt to last on your own before you connect with your source of life, one day, a week, a month?

We were not created to be independent of the vine from our Heavenly Father, our Great Creator, for any length of time. John 15: “ I am the vine, you are the branches. If a man remains in me, and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and Withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.”

As much as we strive to be independent and free of responsibility/obligation, we seek approval and affirmation from those around us. It is human nature to be connected. Who are you choosing as your vine of affirmation; one that brings eternal life and timeless peace, or fleeting moments of gratification?

My brother shared this bit of profound wisdom, and I’ll paraphrase; “Anything in time will never create timeless peace.”

Our Almighty God lives outside of time and is the only source of anything timeless. Is t this want we truly long for? Because of Jesus, we already have all we need to live an abundant life right now.

My friend, if you are rooted in Christ, you can walk confidently knowing your branches will supply unlimited amounts of good fruit, all the days of your life.
