Are you waiting for a question to be answered?

How about an apology to be given?

Is that text message not getting a response?

Is someone not cooperating as you think they should?

Have you ever said this; “How can I possibly relax until I know what’s going on”?

At what point did you decide to give up the control over that part of your life, and how to live it?

The most powerful change we can make in our own life is the moment we stop expecting things to happen the way we want them to. That is it, and that is everything! I could if I wanted stop writing here but I will elaborate.

It is common knowledge when you hear statements like these; “You can’t make anyone do what they do not want to do.” Or “You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make him drink.” Are we not doing exactly what we know doesn’t work when we get frustrated, impatient, or angry? Why does our mind immediately go to a state of unrest when someone doesn’t perform according to our wishes?

We are very selfish creatures in general. I do not care how nice, or wonderful we may think we are, there are parts of you and I that are not okay with things not going as planned in our minds. “If everyone would just do as they are told, we would all be better off.” This statement is all about control and the realization that we have very little. Each and every negative emotion within us is birthed when circumstances beyond our control presents itself and attempts to impede upon our well-planned existence. So what do you do about it? Are you going to allow the actions or lack there of determine the joy you have been given by your Creator? God not only gave us our emotions, He also gave us the means to control them(Spirit of Self Control). As a Christian, we have allowed the Creator Himself to come and dwell within us. There is no greater power than that. But our Loving Father is also very much a Gentleman, He will not try to control us, so he patiently waits for us to surrender the situations to Him, then He can intervene while you and I can rest, trusting that the only One who is in control will take care of it.

How do we do this? The Bible is very clear on this topic;

Proverbs 3:5-6 ~ Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.

Isaiah 40:31 ~ But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Give everything to Him, even the smallest of irritations and rest knowing He loves you so much that it too is of upmost importance to Him. If you believe He will do this, you can rest, then peace and joy comes.

Thank you Lord for your help and your words today.
