What issues are you currently facing?

Can you make a list of your top five?

Of those five, what would be number one?

Perhaps I can guess what a couple of those issues might include; Finances? A relationship? A job? How about health? Did I come close?

“Heidi, it’s not that simple. There is so much more involved.“

Next question; during your 16 hours of being conscious, how much time has your mind been ruminating on that situation?

Do you believe with the limited knowledge, however educated, you have the best solution to that problem?

Next question; how long have you spent time thinking about this? Is it solved yet?

Friends, please know I am right there with you all. My mind, like yours likes to latch hold and think about a situation, as if I will come up with a solution in my own effort if I think on it long enough. As long as I am worried about it, and it’s in the forefront of my mind, then I am doing something about it right? No. That’s the lie.

I heard a quote by Pastor Steven Furtick that made a lightbulb go off in my head:

“Whatever you identify as the source of your stress, determines where you will seek your peace.”

Can you see a mic dropping out of someone’s hand like I did?

Why do you think the Bible tells us in Proverbs 3:5 ~ Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding, but in all your ways know Him, and He will make your paths straight.

I can only speak about my thoughts here, and this may resonate with you as well. If I dig deep enough and really truthful as to why I am worried and anxious about a situation, most likely it comes down to my level of trust that the God of the universe, who not only created me but loves me completely, might not take care of my situation the way I believe it should be handled.

His way of solving this problem may just be a bit uncomfortable for me, and God forbid my flesh is uncomfortable for even a second!

There is hope for our suffering, but we make the decision as to what we think on. Philippians 4:8-9 ~

Finally brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable — if there is any more excellence, and if there is anything praise worthy — dwell on these things. Do what you have learned and received, and heard from me, and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.

You are not without help. Jesus left us so that the Holy Spirit could come. He is our guide, and if you’ve accepted Jesus into your heart, you have Him living inside you. The answer to all your worries is already in the hands of God should you decide to trust Him. I don’t know about you, but for me anytime I have seen the hand of God move in my life, it far exceeded anything I could’ve ever have thought of in my own mind. That alone should be my personal testimony to continually release my troubles to him each morning.

Thank you Lord, for taking care of all of my worries, and for your words today.
