What has life thrown at you recently?

How has it affected your work or home life?

Is it overtaking your mind and healthy habits?

Are you having difficulty enjoying the love of your friends or your family, even your pet?

Do you believe there is an underlying purpose for this suffering?

Why do you think Paul in the Bible speaks to us about taking every thought captive?

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 ~ For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

Our enemy on this earth is very real, and will use our emotions to pull us away from living in God’s peace and purpose.

It starts out as a simple thought; a small fear you have, a dread about an appointment or conversation, or a loss of any kind. Satan knows all of your weaknesses and waits until he has the opportunity to get his foot in your cracked door. Have you heard the term Foothold? When we are thrown out of our what we believe to be comfortable life because of an unexpected event, our thoughts race to some sort of solution. In haste we can choose unwisely. Satan counts on this immediate reaction, he uses our feelings to move us away from God. It is not a sin to be angry or upset, it’s when we act on that feeling that we then become accountable.

Our God is sovereign, and so patient with us. As we make a mistake He is right there to forgive us if we go to Him and repent. He remembers our sins no more, as far as the east is from the west! But God wants us to be proactive instead of reactive. He gives us the Bible, to prepare us for these times.

Isaiah 41:10 ~ “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

Friends we will feel everything, this world is harsh at times, but as my mom would often say to me when I was going ‘thru” something(notice the word “thru”?) “Honey, this will pass, it did not come to stay.” We are only made to suffer “a little while” according to 1 Peter 5:10 ~ and will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

I hope you feel encouraged today. You are not alone, regardless of the feelings you may be experiencing.

“Feelings are fickle. One moment you can be happy and the next you can be sad. Do not rely on them to set your path. God’s word needs to be first, facts comes second, then lastly feelings. I love you honey, everything is going to be okay..” Mom ~
