Do you believe you have the power to change someone’s day?

Does another not deserve to experience kindness because you’re suffering?

Was that person placed in your life for your benefit only?

What is preventing you from reaching out and spending 5 life-changing minutes?

Can you fathom that your presence and attention could be the hug that person longed for?

We have no clue what someone else requires, think about it, we don’t even know what we really need sometimes. I bet I’m not alone when I say some of the choices I’ve made in my lifetime have been questionable to say the least, yes? Did I think I needed it at the time…most likely.

I’m sitting in my favorite morning spot, drinking my coffee and shaking my head at how I’m still walking around, with some of the decisions I made as a young adult!

This alone proves there is a God watching over me, and has had a plan for my life before I was ever born. I digress.

So what stops us from putting another’s feelings over our own?

Maybe you weren’t cared for properly as a child, and now believe if you don’t think of yourself first and foremost, you will end up the same as you were when you were little?

Are you at a point where you feel the rug was pulled out from under you and you don’t even have the strength to get up, much less extend kindness to another? Would another’s kindness be exactly what you need?

Friends, focusing on anything makes it bigger just like a magnifying glass. Imagine if you will, placing that same focus you have on yourself, to another, would do the same thing. Do you know you have a God who is capable of handling all your worries so you can be the light to another?

Christ followers are called to a higher responsibility because we know we have a loving Father who cares for us, is giving us exactly what we need so we don’t have to spend time worrying over our life, this allows us to give of ourselves showing His love to those who don’t know Him. This is the basis for our existence, bringing His children back to Him. I know I know, this part is hard, it takes faith and continual fellowship with God to stay grounded so we can do this, giving of ourselves even when we don’t feel like it. Our walk with God is not about feelings, it’s about knowing He is doing for us what we cannot do for ourselves, with the help of the Holy Spirit, and moving forward because of it.

What has God placed on your heart to do for another today?
