Have you been waiting for something? How long?
Do you believe your life isn’t complete because of it?
How many years did you take up that mantle and try to make that happen, to no avail?
Could it be that God did not call you for that? (We don’t like “No”)
Dear Christian friends, our past is no longer an indication of our future. The Holy Spirit who now actively resides inside each of us, wants permission to work through us, in every area. If we bring our past limitations and worldly dreams with us and try to add God’s plan, it will only thwart His ability to give us the great gifts He designed before we were even born. It is so important that you surrender not only your soul, but the imaginations you envision and allow God complete control and see what He wants to do. Our life is no longer our own, it is His, this includes our thoughts about our life as well. Sure we will have dreams and aspirations but as a child of God it is our responsibility to lay those at His feet and seek counsel if it is what He desires for us. He will lead us as only a loving Father does, and show you the right path, bringing with it all the peace and comfort those changes can inflict. He is fully aware all we will need in order to fulfill His beautiful plan, and promises He will never leave us or forsake us. What part of your life(past dreams)have you not given to Him yet?
My life certainly has not gone as planned, back when I was a little girl. I dreamt of my wedding day, marrying the man of my dreams and discovering the world with him by my side. That is not what happened, so far anyway. Here’s what God is showing me;
If I don’t lay that old desire down and give it to Him, I will attach it to everything wonderful God wants to do, and it will dim the beauty every single time. His ways are not our ways, this phrase comes to me and I’m reminded to release it all, every little thing and let God do what He wants to do…..it’s the best way.
At 59, I now sit in His presence and intentionally surrender all that the little girl held onto, every little dream, and give it over to the only One who can carry them. By doing this I allow Him to come in and heal, restore, and bring me to wholeness in the way only He can. He replaces beauty for ashes, and joy for sorrow. Won’t you do the same?
Thank you Lord for your faithfulness that you will never leave us or forsake us, and for your words today.
